Explanation Of CMEM Model
The CMEM Model, or Comprehensive Modal Emissions Model, is a software model that can be used to predict emissions for a wide variety of Light-Duty vehicles (cars and small trucks), in various conditions (properly functioning, deterring, malfunctioning). Current versions of the model can predict emissions for Heavy Duty Diesel Vehicles, and can also predict second-by-second tailpipe emissions, as well as fuel consumption.
The model breaks down the emission process into different components which all correspond to different physical phenomena associated with vehicle operation and emissions production. Each component is then modelled as an analytical representation that contains many parameters based on factors such as vehicle/technology type, emission control technology, and vehicle age.
